Dar es Salaam. Famous national soccer team (Taifa Stars) players, Mbwana Samatta, Saimon Msuva, Farid Mussa and Shaaban Chilunda will now join their team mates in Cape Verde ahead of the African Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifiers encounter.

Already, Thomas Ulimwengu who plays for Al Hilal of Sudan, has reported in the team’s residential training camp under head coach Emmanuel Amunike. Taifa Stars is scheduled to leave the country on October 9.

Taifa Stars team manager Danny Msangi said that the four players’ permission would be granted on the day they would leave for Cape Verde. Msangi explained that it would be very difficult for them to come in the country and later leave with the team.

He explained that they previously planned that all Tanzania’s foreign based players would connect to Cape Verde from their teams, but after securing a government plane, they revised their decision. “Technically, the players will travel longer than others, we have decided to book them direct to Cape Verde and the technical bench will have a special training session for them to cope with others,” said Msangi.

Msangi named the foreign based players of the national team as Hassan Kessy, who plays for Zambia’s Nkana Red Devils, Rashid Mandawa (BDF, Botswana), Abdi Banda (Baroka FC, South Africa) and Himid Mao, who features for Egypt’s Petro Jet will join the team before departing for Cape Verde. He said all the players are scheduled to arrive there before Monday ahead of the encounter.

He said that 22 players are now in the training camp ahead of the encounter. The team is training at JMK Park ground in the morning and in the evening at Boko Beach Veterans ground.

Meanwhile; Young Africans and Simba players will not train with others today and tomorrow because of their league commitments. Msangi said Simba players will join their club training session ahead of tomorrow’s encounter against African Lyon while Young Africans players will be out of the team as they will be preparing to face Mbao FC this Sunday. Young Africans players are Benno Kakolanya, Gadiel Michael, Feisal Salum, Andrew Vincent and Kelvin Yondani while Simba’s are Aishi Manula, Jonas Mkude, John Bocco and Shomari Kapombe.
