Serengeti. Serengeti District Court has handed 20 years jail term to two people after finding them guilty in several counts of cattle theft.
The judgement was given to residents of Majimoto Village in the district Mr Nyigana Maro (28) and Chacha Maro (46).
Reading the judgement in criminal case number 32/2017 on Monday, April 15, 2019, resident magistrate Jakobo Ndila said following witness produced at the court, the two suspects were each handed 20 years jail term.
“The suspects were also ordered to pay Sh5.4 million fine,” he said.
Earlier, Public Prosecutor Pascal Nkenyenge said the duo were accused for stealing 10 cattle worth Sh6 million belonged to another resident in the village, Mr Wambura Wambura.
