Dar es Salaam. A total of 150 local and international tourism companies and related institutions have confirmed their participation in the 3rd Swahili International Tourism Expo that’s slated to take place in Dar es Salaam from Friday October13.

Also, a total of 180 international-class tourism agents and businessmen from the UK, US, Ethiopia, Morocco, India and Germany are already booked to attend the exhibition, with a view to assessing the opportunities for investing in Tanzania’s Tourism sector – which already contributes upwards of 17 per cent of the GDP!

“This year will be the third time that the Expo is taking place in Tanzania. It was first held in 2014, and again in 2015, in Dar es Salaam,” said Tanzania Tourist Board’s boss Devota Mdachi in a press statement availed to The Citizen.
